January, 2008
We are currently studying immigration and prejudice against others. The best way to avoid being prejudice is to understand the cultures of other countries. We are going to study Chinese culture and finish off the study with celebrating the Chinese New Year. The Chinese New Year is February 7th and 8th. I will be sending information home soon about our celebrations.

It is amazing that one month has passed! We have adjusted to the new surroundings and new friendships are being formed. We have been working on fact families, place value, and large numbers in math. Next will be rounding. In social studies we have been looking at how to read and use maps. The students have been working very hard on these topics and we have been having fun as well. We play games like "Squeeze", "Hot Seat", and various math games to help. Keep up the great work!!
